Fairy Flower Perfume
In the late spring, here in the Pacific Northwest, one finds in the mixed conifer forest
the lovely, delicate twin flower growing over crumbling logs and fallen trees. As one goes through the forest one may first detect their precious
scent
upon the air, and if they are not acquainted with its source, wonder where such a fragrance originates. Then when one beholds the myriads of tiny
flowers illuminated by the slanting rays of light piercing through the evergreen forest canopy and falling upon these small gems, and bends to inhale
their sublime beauty, one becomes enchanted and falls under the spell of the fairy land which they inhabit. In its bouquet one perceives notes of
almond, citrus, rose-jasmine-orange blossom accord, frankincense and a very high etheric note as is sometimes found in blue lotus. I have endeavored
to capture the beauty of this tiny forest beauty in Fairy Flower Perfume. More...

October Update
Dear Friends- Kind greetings!
Suzanne and I hope that you are enjoying the advent of Fall and that many fine aromatic treasures will flow through your creative blending in the
months
to come.
Last week we received 10 kilos of organic Sandalwood from Sri Lanka (5 kilos now remains of the amount we
received.) The story behind the sandalwood project in Sri Lanka is a very nice one and so I am sharing the distillers information with you. The
distiller who we procure the oil from has been a pioneer in organic horticulture in Sri Lanka and was able to gain permission to dig out the roots
from the trees which had been harvested years ago as he has been one of the major movers in re-establishing the industry in his country and has a
good
relationship with the government as a result of his efforts. For every root they dig out they have planted 20 new trees. The current batch of
sandalwood oil is distilled exclusively from the roots of old trees that were harvested many years back. More...

Organic Ruh Gulab/Rose otto (Himalayas,
India)
The distilled essence of organically grown Rosa damascena flowers in
the Himalayan mountains of India is a rare and precious aromatic treat.
Currently only a few innovative farmers are engaged in growing in
distilling Rosa damascena in several remote areas but the oil that they
produce is of a remarkably lovely quality. The essential oil displays an incredibly rich, ethereal, sweet, deep,
warm, full floral bouquet with a slightly spicy-honeyed undertone. As
it ages the harmony of the different aromatic molecules that compose
the total oil become more and more harmonious and integrated creating
an aura of perfect floral beauty.
The radiation of Ruh Gulab is unique and surprising. It grows from a
quiet aromatic center and spreads silently into the atmosphere but
suddenly one is engulfed in its magnetic sphere. More...
